Have you been wondering how you can share your spiritual gifts with the parish? Below you will find the various Liturgical ministries that are available at Holy Rosary.
You will greet and seat people before the beginning of Mass and at appropriate points of the liturgy; make sure that overflow seating is available; by take up the collection; and distribute bulletins and “pick-up” at the end of Mass.
You will greet the faithful as they are arriving and distributing liturgy programs and bringing the gifts to the Altar. ALL members of the community of faith, and especially families, are invited to the ministry of Greeters/Gift Bearers. It is important for those in the assembly to ‘see’ what makes us community. We are a large and diverse group of people who celebrate here, and it is important that we reflect that diversity as we gather and greet one another for liturgy.
Lectors proclaim the word of God to the assembly. They must be able to read well, be clearly understood, and spend time preparing with the scriptures. Pace, volume, and how to relate to the microphone are imperative and require practice. Training is a MUST.
This ministry needs an attitude of service and respect for the Eucharist. You must be a confirmed, practicing Catholic. Training is a MUST.
Children who have completed the initial Sacraments of Initiation (baptism, reconciliation and Eucharist) are invited to participate in the ministries of cross bearer, candle bearer, incense bearer, and other seasonal ministries that are called for. The children MUST attend training for these ministries with a parent or guardian. Size and maturity level, along with a reliable commitment to ‘show up when scheduled’ are imperative.
Children pre-school through grade school are invited and encouraged to participate in the seasonal Children’s choir.
Youth (Jr. High and older) are invited and encouraged to participate in all of the ministries mentioned above, as well as serving as lectors, ushers and musicians (cantor, choir member, instrumentalist).
Call Laurie at any time during the year.
